Welcome to the “ Remote Control Tourist” website (the “Website”). The Website is operated by Clemenger BBDO (the “Company”, “we” or “us”) on behalf of Tourism Victoria.

    (a) We are committed to protecting your privacy and we comply with the National Privacy Principles (NPPs) set out under the Privacy Act 1988.

    (b) The NPPs regulate the way that organisations can collect, use, keep, secure and disclose personal information.

    (c) By accessing and using the Website or by submitting information to us, you consent to the collection and use of your personal information in accordance with the terms of this Privacy Policy.

    (d) You acknowledge that to access certain features of the Website, you may be required to log in using a valid Facebook and/or Twitter account (“Social Media Account”). By logging into the Website using a Social Media Account, you confirm that together with this Privacy Policy, you will comply with the respective privacy policies and terms and conditions prescribed by Facebook and Twitter.

    (e) We recommend that you keep a copy of this Privacy Policy for future reference.

  2. YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

    (a) When you use the Website, we may collect personal information about you, including your name, date of birth, gender, phone number, e-mail address, and occupation.

    (b) If you log in to the Website via a Social Media Account, you authorise us to also receive certain information from that account, including information that is visible on your public profile, including your posts, your friends list, photographs, and other public information. Such information received by us will be covered by this Privacy Policy. If you do not wish for certain information to be made available to us, please adjust the privacy settings on your Social Media Account.

In addition, we may use your information:

    (ii) to provide you with information about the Website, the “Remote Control Tourist” or Tourism Victoria, via email or through your Social Media Account;

    (iii) to provide you with direct marketing, advertising or promotions related to the Website, the Remote Control Tourist or Tourism Victoria, via email or through your Social Media Account;

    (iv) to provide you information relating to your account or conduct on the Website;

    (v) to enhance and develop the Website and any other services provided by the Company including asking you to participate in surveys to help us improve the Website;

    (vi) as required or authorised by law, including the National Privacy Principles or as applicable, the Australian Privacy Principles;

    (b) You may contact us to amend any of your personal information that is inaccurate.

    (c) You have a right to access your personal information, subject to some exceptions allowed by law. If you would like to do so, please let us know.

    (d) For security reasons, we may ask you to put any request to access your information in writing. We may also charge a administration fee for searching for and providing access to requested information.

    (a) We will take reasonable steps to maintain the security of and to prevent unauthorised access to or disclosure of your personal information.

    (b) However, we do not guarantee that unauthorised access to your personal information will not occur, either during transmission of that information to us or after we receive that information.

    The Website is intended for users aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect or maintain any personal information or non-personally-identifiable information from anyone under the age of 18 nor is any part of our Website, software or service directed to users under the age of 18. Should we discover that a user is under the age of 18, that user’s access to the Website will be denied and any information submitted by that user will not knowingly continue to be used, posted, or retained by us.
